History of the Psychometrics Forum

Background

The 16PF User Group was established in 1988 by Roy Childs of Team Focus, who was chairman for the first 10 years of the Group’s existence. At that time, Cattell’s Sixteen-Personality Factor Questionnaire and Saville and Holdsworth’s Occupational Personality Questionnaire, were the most widely used of the general personality assessments. Early meetings were held at Liberty’s, at the National Liberal Club, and at the Independent Assessment and Research Centre (IARC), at Great Portland Street. The Group moved to its current venue at The Naval Club, Hill Street, Mayfair in 1999. We have also now been holding meetings at the Caledonian Club, Belgravia for a number of years.
